Reading magazines is ok for a few years but after a while they just get boring, a load of self publicising guys who just want their pictures in there.
Or am I jealous?
Let's face it they fill a need, someone new wants to know about martial arts - they go and read about it.
Maybe if they came on here they would learn more, or at least become discriminating.

I read MAI, Combat, Blackbelt and Inside Kung Fu ( latter 2 American )

I enjoy them all but I think the British mags are moving into the American style of journalism. Combat was king in the 80's and early 90's in my opinion.

just done an interview with larry tatum for mai , will be may's i think , the magazine's will move with the popular times , as without sales there is no magazine , it is true that they have become americanised , i have written for most of them at one time or another , and they apeal to different groups of artists , some mag's are considerd hardcore , some not so , my opinion is that i use them for the intended purpose , entertainment and keeping up with whats on .
cheers
